MicroCrete reception and entrance area, Farringdon Point.

Installation Date: August 2017
Location: Farringdon, London
Installation Type: MicroCrete®
Colour: 20% Black

Working closely with a very renowned commercial refurbishment company we were appointed as chosen contractors to install our MicroCrete® products to a selection of surfaces with in the reception areas. The project was segmented into sections as they became readily available which started with the floor areas. The substrates were existing sand and cement screeds which required the previous floor covering adhesives removed by the use of grinding equipment. The next stage was to apply a thin layer of smoothing screed to the substrates in order to achieve tollerances of SR1 (3mm over a 2m straight edge) of which following this the MicroCrete® polished concrete could be installed.

Upon completion of the floors we moved on to the exterior walls and ceilings which again were coated in think skim of MicroCrete® polished concrete which allowed the refurbishment company to prepare the further elements internally for application.

Within the main reception areas MicroCrete® polished concrete was installed to the main reception desk, seating areas, staircase, feature triangular wall paneling and a glass / polished concrete configuration at the main enterance.

Lastly we were requested to apply the MicroCrete® system to a 3m long “Farringdon Point” sign to be housed externally on the building and included internal lighting.

This without doubt is one of our favourite projects to date, the vision of the designers involved, professionalism of contractors on site were second to none and look forward to many similar projects in the future.
