Juno Rooms is a newly established restaurant bar in the City of London. A short distance from Bank, Chancery Lane and St.Paul’s tube stations, Juno Rooms is an amazing venue for parties or after-work drinks.
For this particular project, The Resin Floor Co. was commissioned to install a seamless polished concrete floor in the main bar/restaurant area. As the existing substrate was an old uneven existing concrete slab without any damp proofing, the areas required some significant preparation, application of a new DPM (damp proof membrane) and an Ardex A38 sand and cement screed bonded at 50mm to the 250m2 area.
Once the new screed had dried and cured, the areas were prepared and a cement-based Ardex K80 industrial topping was installed at 10mm to the complete floor area. Being that this was a basement area with minimal airflow, it was required to install 6x large air movers to help the polished concrete overlay to dry and cure swiftly and allow the polishing process to begin.
Once ready for the polishing process, the Ardex K80 abraded and brought up to a honed finish where the use of impregnating sealers was applied and burnished to result in a beautiful and easy to clean finish.
The final results were absolutely stunning and worked with the environment perfectly.
